1963 Dunphy “Adventurer” Runabout Restoration

 

This almost 16’ plywood lapstrake runabout was in rough shape when I found it. Restoration was completed summer of 2022.

Beautiful Vollrath steering wheel. I was told it may have something to do with Brooks Stevens

The front deck of the boat was rotted though. An old patch of fiberglass did not help much.
I thought there were 8-9 rotten ribs on this boat, but I ended up replacing them all.
New ribs with curling stone for weight.
Installing the inner gunwale.
Before flipping and stripping paint
Some of the paint came off easy, the rest not so much.
Ready for new primer and paint
3M 5200 to secure the keel back in place.
